DOOM is one of those games that helped to define a genre. From running around with a myriad of realistic and ridiculous weaponry, to the blood and gore, and even the occasionally questionable imagery, DOOM helped define the First Person Shooter for what it was going to become. If you want proof of the games importance, you just have to watch the video here to see Bill Gates deliver a talk about Window 95 from inside the game. The games popularity saw it ported to pretty much every system available at the time in various flavours and forms.
Now, John Carmack himself, has brought it to the iPhone.
The iPhone version of the game has support for multiplayer (co-operative and deathmatch), the original three episodes (Knee-Deep in the Dead, Shores of Hell and Inferno) as well as the later released Episode Four, “Thy Flesh Consumed”. The default controls we’ve found to be very straight-forward but there are several setups available including the ability to customise the control setup completely should you so choose. The graphics are stunning, and easily outdo the original quality that I at least experienced back when I first played the game.

Playing through the game brought back many fond memories, and even though it has been at least a decade since I played the game last, I can still remember where most of the secrets are.
