These have been out for a little while, however we thought we’d mention it, just in case you had missed it. A few months back Wizards of the Coast set up a game with the writers from Robot Chicken and videotaped the experience which was DM’d by Chris Perkins. The game is special in that a few of the players had never played the game before, and this was their first ‘hands on’ experience with it.
The game was set up in response to the PvP Online podcast (which we’ve talked about before). One of the writers was a big fan of the podcast and made the call to see if he could get in on a game run by Chris Perkins. Only too eager to help out, a few months later they managed to get everyone together for a game. The game runs over 25 one hour episodes, so it’ll take a while to get through.
Added to the main game footage, Chris Perkins has also provided a DM’s commentary on each episode as well. During these he comments on general dungeon mastering techniques and skills and provides pretty good advice on how to manage a game, put things together and introduce players to the game. After watching the main game footage, it’s worth your time watching the commentary if you run games at all.
