Warhammer Magic Guide: Lore of Beasts

The Lore of Beasts has an interesting mix of spells. It primarily focuses on Augments, but also boasts two Magic Missiles and a Hex. It immediately offers itself as a fairly general spell list that can be played comfortably with and against pretty much any army. The core magic Lores in the Warhammer rulebook are a lot more useful, and hence see a lot more play, with the changes in 8th Edition. In this post we’re looking at the Lore of Fire. The Lore of Fire is, unsurprisingly, focussed on delivering large amounts of fiery death to your opponent’s troops (or “dudes”). Most of its spells are direct damage, which is not necessarily a bad thing if that’s what you want.

What are the differences between the editions of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay?

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay has gone through a number of different publishers, many of whom have added their own flavour and touches to the system. The first edition of the game was released in 1986 by Games Workshop. It was based on their highly popular fantasy battles system and it gave players the opportunity to adventure in the plague and chaos ridden Warhammer world that they already knew well. The game is currently in its 3rd edition (having been licensed by Fantasy Flight Games) and has undergone its most significant changes to date.
