Our Reviews Policy, Kickstarter and Interviews

Reviews

Our integrity as reviewers is important to us. As a general rule, if we have not played a game, read a resource or tested a product, we will not review it. We may, however, discuss the concepts behind an item, discuss aspects of a product that we have found interesting, etc.

We are happy to review items that are sent to us if they meet two requirements:

  1. We think our audience will be interested in the product, and,
  2. We can be, for the most part, positive about the product. If we can’t find anything to recommend, we would rather not discuss it.

At all times we reserve the right to not review an item that we have been sent for any reason.

Items can be either emailed to podcasters at diceofdoom dot com, as PDFs (or other electronic format) or mailed to:

Kickstarter

As we generally do not review any game or product that we have not read, played or used, we are, generally speaking, not able to endorse a Kickstarter. This is not a hard and fast rule – in some circumstances we may advise people of a Kickstarter if there is a history behind the developer or product (for example the FATE: Core KS, Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition and Cthulhu Wars).

We get a lot of requests to support a wide variety of Kickstarter projects. If we were to announce all of them, it would be all we could do to keep up. Rather than offend some by choosing between projects that we are sent, we will, for the most part, not endorse a Kickstarter.

Feel free to email us about a Kickstarter that you think we may be interested in backing it though!

Interviews

We love talking to and meeting people in and around the hobby that we love. If you are interested in appearing on the show and have something to talk about (ie, you are a game designer, developer, artist or such), let us know. While we do live on what is essentially the other side of the planet to nearly everyone, we will endeavour to find a mutually agreeable time for the interview.
